Glossier solution first impression

If you’ve been scrolling aimlessly through instagram or twitter in the last month or so, chances are you’ve stumbled across the Glossier solution. Basically it’s an affordable version of Lotion 50 by Biologique Recherché i.e; it’s an at home chemical exfoliant…sounds scary? It isn’t. Ok yes I’m a bit of an all or nothing when it comes to skincare but as someone who has actually used the Lotion 50, Glossier solution is the ‘baby’ version.

Alright, here’s the science:

“Unlike physical exfoliators that scrape off the surface of your skin, Solution gently sloughs dead cells away through chemical exfoliation, ungluing the problematic dead cells hiding and clogging healthy skin beneath.

Skin’s texture will be smoother and softer, and the fabled glow of balanced, healthy skin will be in full force. Solution contains a particular 10% blend of three acid groups: Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), and Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA). Acids are your friend.”

First things first, this product does not sting my skin (this can be a side effect of using straight retinol), I have got a slight tingle occasionally but only during the application and it’s not uncomfortable. I love how my skin feels post use – very fresh and smooth (go figure, it’s an exfoliant). I’ve been using it for almost 2 weeks now and it has definitely cleaned up the texture of my skin and I’ve noticed a significant reduction in the redness around my nose which is amazing, normally nothing works. Overall, I would definitely recommend especially as similar products normally cost an arm and a leg!

Talk to ya later
