As if you didn’t need a reason to love avocado more, I’m about to add a whole other element to the avocado love affair that’s taken over in the last 2 years (apparently we’re in an avocado ‘drought’ atm….I’m concerned). Avocado oil. Oh baby this stuff is good but not for reasons you may think.
So fun fact I hate salad dressing, I also can’t eat most of them seeing as they are chock full of butter/cream/any dairy-you-can-think-of (no I’m not vegan, just v e r y intolerant) however, avocado oil drizzled on a salad is delish, I’m obsessed, so yummy & extremely good for you;
Rich in Oleic Acid, (that’s a very healthy fat)
Helps to reduce cholesterol and improve your heart health.
High in Lutein, an Antioxidant That has Benefits for The Eyes (who doesn’t want clear sparkling eyes)
Enhances the Absorption of Important Nutrients (this is so important! Not all vitamins are soluble without fat – make sure you take some fat with your vitamins otherwise you might as well be popping a pill of air)
To name a few…..google for more!
So that’s just a little insight as to why you should use it to cook with and/or eat it as a dressing BUT that is not the main crux of the matter oh no, no, no. Let’s talk about avocado oil for skincare shall we.
So the other day I realised I was running low on almost all of my skincare…really low…as in I ran out. But I am a) trying to save money and b) the shops were shut so I had to get creative. Luckily I had some avocado oil lying around the kitchen (as you do) and thought how bad can this be. Oh my goodness, game changer. Not only did this remove all my makeup in one go but my skin looked clear and glowy and felt incredibly soft. So after some research I discovered that apparently avocado oil is one of the best things you can do for your skin! I had no idea.
Prevents UV/sun damage
Heals wounds faster
Helps hair growth ( a slight side note but what a win…it’s also great for nails!)
I mean with a list like that how could you not want to give it a go?! Honestly I can not recommend this skin-care-hack enough. If you try it out let me know what you think in the comments below!
Bye! I need to go wash my face with avocado, whilst eating my avocado on rice cakes (don’t knock it till you try)
