Hi darlings, it’s currently raining outside and in a bid to do some uni work (as well as having to wait for a plumber all day) I have been cocooned inside (many dance parties have been needed). Seeing as we are now well and truly in Autumn, dare I say verging on Winter (Christmas) I have to say I am enjoying the snug-ness of being sat inside whilst it pours down out my window. This coziness has been heightened by what I am now referring to as my ‘morning rituals’.
Essentially theses are a few things I do every morning before starting my day which I’ve found have really improved my mental state since implementing them over a month ago.
Let me set the scene for you here….I sleep with my curtains slightly ajar so that I naturally wake up when the sky gets lighter but…incase that doesn’t work I set my alarm on my phone; *alarm noise* I wake up and as soon as I do I take my 5 minute journal and fill out the ‘morning’ sections.
This has really helped me subconsciously start to notice the good and positive aspects of my day-to-day life and has helped make every day feel that bit more extraordinary. It’s also a great way to practice gratitude towards those around you and the blessings in your life!
Next it’s time for a quick stretch, if I’m feeling stuck for ideas then I simply take this yoga deck, pick a card and practice that position before hopping into the shower.
After my shower & morning routine, I fill up my aromatherapy diffuser with whatever I feel like, currently my favourites are grapefruit, eucalpytus and olbas oil if I’m feeling a little groggy…
I also fill up a water bottle with 2 teaspoons of wheatgrass and water (mix them) which I drink before breakfast (yes I’m aware this sounds gross but I really don’t mind the taste and the benefits are worth it ok?!) as it gives me TONNES of energy.
Seriously, this is a g a m e c h a n g e r, I’m telling you.
After that it’s breakfast, emails, a scroll through instagram and I’m out the door off to uni or (most probably) in search of a coffee.
What are your morning rituals?
