Hiya, so I know I talk a lot about clean beauty and eco-friendly beauty products but I know that some terms can be a bit confusing especially if you’ve clicked on any links that take you to specific products I’ve recommended. So I thought today I would explain what some of those terms mean!
Products which are free from Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor
Products which are free from Formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, and xylene.
Parabens are potential endocrine disruptors and these disruptions have been linked directly to cancer tumours.
Petroleum jelly creates the illusion of being moisturised but actually blocks your pores as it’s water repellent and not water soluble
These are chemicals which seep into the endocrine system and can disrupt hormones and major organ systems. The largest endocrine disruptor being BPA.
Any cosmetic completely devoid of animal products and animal testing.
Ingredients are grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modified organisms, or ionising radiation. For a product to be deemed 100% organic it has to be approved by the USDA (US) and DEFRA (uk/EU).
I hope this helped explain a couple of the basic clean beauty terms, but there are a lot more so if you are confused about some words please leave them in the comments or DM me on any form of social media (links at the side) and I can help ya out! I’ll also do a part 2 to this so look out for that.
Talk to ya later
