Hiya! Following from the ‘style icon’ post I did on Jackie Kennedy, I thought, why not do another one! Today’s post is going to be on Catherine Deneuve, a french actress who rose to popularity around the 60’s (french AND the 60s…can you guess I’m already loving her…). Her style was classic and feminine. Kind of early Chanel vibes, LBD and what not.
So many of Deneuve’s looks were timeless classics. A crisp white shirt never goes out of style and especially in this ‘free the nipple’ age you can’t go wrong with using it as a non-covered cover up on the beach ala Catherine (so cheeky so hip so cool)!
A cable knit jumper is so great for the upcoming A/W season. I think what really makes Deneuve’s is her hairstyle in this image! Pair the chunky jumper with a sleek and swishy ponytail for a less traditional look (don’t forget BIG lashes too!)
I love these little flats of hers in this photograph. They’re a cute twist on an old classic. Here are a few options to jazz it up a bit and give the bow strap a 2016 edge!
Small hoop earrings
It’s true that fashion comes back around; small hoops are everywhere at the moment. Instead of the 1, have lots (if you have quite a few piercings) all different shapes. But keep them small and dainty so as not to overwhelm your face!
Black hair bow
Although not everyone would be comfortable wearing a large black bow on top of their head (except hello kitty & Ariana Grande oh & Eloise), a chic black hair accessory can transport this look into a modern age. My personal favourite out of these is number 2 – a simple black tassel hair tie.
LBD is timeless. Invest in a great one that flatters your shape and is the ultimate ‘I have noting to wear’ solution for any event.
